D'ye mean ta say the shortcut is migratory?
Whenever I upgrade Calibre, it moves its own shortcut on my desktop, from where I've put it, to the first "available" slot on the desktop.

Never seen this in any other application before. How do you suppose it's done? How do you suppose I could stop it?

Click advanced in the installer and ask it not to install a desktop shortcut. It will remeber that setting for future installs
