Kobo Wi-Fi Page Turn Speed

I have a Kobo Wi-Fi and just read the Hunger Games Trilogy on it this past weekend. I love my Kobo and regularly alternate using it with my original Nook (that I have misplaced of late)

Reading the Trilogy on Kobo got me feeling the need for faster page turns while I was trying to keep up with the story action. Is there something I can do to speed up the page turns?

I think I read here that The Kobo Touch is faster, but I hate to buy a new reader when the one I have is perfectly fine.

Also I notice at my Best Buy the Kobo WiFi is only $69. and the Touch is $79! They had dozens of the Wi-Fis on a shelf below the display.Wow! Guess they aren't selling?! But it is a great reader IMHO.

Thanks for reading.

Much slower processor makes slow page turns. For finding book in library more books slows down finding wanted book but doesn't change page turn speed. KT has much faster page turn speed depending on software version. Present version is faster than last version which was worst yet in many ways. With some versions and large font it was like reading flash card speed read training very fast page turns i could just read at fast as page turned.

Any other comments? Sounds like the answer is to get the latest and greatest KT with the latest and greatest software to get speedier -- but what do I do with my Wi_Fi Version?

Hmm. I'll think about this a little more tonight.

I found with my old Astak that I would get to mid-way through the second last sentence and hit the page turn button, by the time I finished reading the last line it would start to refresh and with the time it took my eyes to move to the top of the screen it would have finished refreshing. Not exactly perfect timing, but damn site quicker than turning a physical page in a book.

Might be worth a shot.

What Solicitous just said!

Sometimes I go back to my Kobo Wifi (for old time's sake ) and I do the page turn when I get to about the last three lines of text. Same principle.

Well I broke down and bought a Kobo Touch this weekend to test out. I am trying to get over my guilt and running it through it's paces to see if I will keep it or return it.
Will post back when I decide what's what.

Thanks again for all replies.

BTW Solicitus, I tried you method both before and after my original post, but couldn't get the timing right. I always ended up going back to the previous page to be sure I got everything read before the page turned (LOL). Kinda defeated the purpose. Guess my hand eye coordination is lacking.
