Using your kindle's wi-fi on your computer
Does anyone have any ideas how to make it possible to get internet access on your computer using the kindle's wifi or 3g. i.e. the kindle will become your wireless dongle.

This is a forbidden topic (the 3G part). It violates amazon's TOS and is considered illegal by the site moderators.

Sharing a wifi connection is still "tethering" and does not distinguish WHERE the internet connection is coming from. Even IF you were sharing a wifi connection, if the signal faded and the kindle switched to a 3G connection, then it would be sharing the 3G connection.

It is too risky to do on a kindle that is registered with amazon.
