Frozen on Restoring Factory Defaults

I lent my best friend my Kobo Touch for her trip to the Carribean so she could read The Hunger Games and when she returned about 2 weeks ago she returned it to me and said that it had frozen on the plane home. It is still frozen on "Restoring your Device to Factory Defaults". I sent a message to the help service and they sent me a link to a page that told you how to restore to factory default, which was completely useless because it's frozen on that. I don't need to know *how* to do it.

Have you tried just plugging it in and charging it for a few hours?

Yah, It's been plugged in for 2 days now.

Have you tried a basic reset? To do this, unfold a paper clip and slid one end gently into the small hole in the back of the reader until you hear/feel a click.

I'm having the same problem, and its driving me nuts. Kobo stuck on restoring with an egg timer in the middle. Anybody got any advice. I've done all the usual stuff like reset, and charging. Many thanks
