Kindle "Book Description"
I've looked all over for this and can't seem to find a definitive answer. When modifying or creating an ebook for the Kindle, is there anyway (using Calibre, Kindlegen or any other method or program) to edit the Book Description link that appears in the menu that normally takes you to the amazon.com page of the book you are reading. I have some .mobi ebooks that were not bought at amazon that do not display anything when going on Book Description that I would like to link to their amazon page or another site which would show a description. Currently, as far as I know it seems only ebooks specifically bought from Amazon have a functioning Book Description option on my Kindle (it non-touch version 4).

It's using the ASIN number encoded in the file. You can use the tool from this thread to modify (or add, if it doesn't exist) the field 113 (ASIN).
For instance, putting "B000JQV3QA" in there will lead you to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland when clicking on the description. You should easily find the ASIN for any book that is sold through Amazon. |
