Battery issue
Hi guys, I've been reading the forum for a while, and now I'm here to ask for your help.
I root my PRS T1 when the battery was charged at 70% and it last like a week to discharged, with almost an hour of reading, lots of dictionary searches in Coolreader and the wifi turn off. Is it an average duration? Do I need to recalibrate my battery following this procedure https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/PRST...Recalibration? Is it safe? And, finally, a wall charger is fully necessary or its okay with the USB one? Thank you very much. |

Try it and see.
People recommend a wall charger. I don't quite know why as electrons are electrons and a charge should be a charge. I do have a wall charger but I got it so when I forgot to charge I could still read. (convenience) That said, on the PRS-T1 a full charge on wall charger lasted me 4-5 days. Charged it 6 times in 4 weeks after error message) I discharged it (kept turning it on and reading past the error message) till it wouldn't start for two days. (was advised against this but by then it was too late). Now it lasts 15 days before error message and probably could go longer. My reading habit is 200-400 Sony pages a day. Helen |

I also don't know why, but I get a better charge performance from the charger.
I think the danger with the PC is if it's left on say overnight, it can go to sleep and send itself instructions to drain the battery - which is not A Good Thing..... I find the T1 battery performance is awesome, two weeks on easily more pages, following the never power off, always wait until one bar before charge, on wall, overnight. (It doesn't damage the battery.) The battery seems to get "educated" - it's the same on the 3/650 generation, I found. |
