Update to 8.41 Installation Problem

I have version 7.42 but until now didn't have enough ebooks to use it. Now I'm setting it up and trying to update to 8.41. I get the following error msg:
"The operation can’t be completed because some items had to be skipped. For each item, choose File > Get Info, make sure “Locked” is deselected, and then check the Sharing & Permissions section. When you are sure the items are unlocked and not designated as Read Only or No Access, try again." I have unlocked the new version but get the same error when I try to install. Any solutions?

What OS?
Calibre MUST be not running when doing the upgrade.

Part of an upgrade includes upgrading the database structure (and there were changes between 7.42 and 8.41 )
Other changes are replacement files. Those can't be in use, either.
