Troubleshooting New Kindle Wifi screen blank

Bought my Kindle wifi yesterday, began setup, pressed a few buttons and now screen is blank - its now connected to the computer with a green light below showing but the screen is blank and the buttons are unresponsive.

What have I done to kill it

and what is the button next to the green light for ...

The diagram of buttons on the pamphlet that came with the kindle doesn't say what it is - all other buttons are described, however ..

I still dont know how to get it working again, hope someone can help

Sounds like your battery is dead.

Plug it in, preferably to a wall outlet. If you charge it via your computer USB, make sure your computer doesn't go to sleep. Let it charge for at least 3 hours, then try turning it on again.

You did fully charge it before turning it on and starting to set it up? Because if not, as pidgeon92 says, that's possibly all it is, a flat battery.
