Corrupted epub representation
Hello,
I have recently noticed that sometimes there is a corruption in epub representation. As if parts of text were missing. I have seen it in at least 2 books. One bought from Sony shop and one downloaded from project Guttenberg. In both cases power down has resolved the issue. Has anybody seen this issue? What could be the problem? Regards, Genady |

Yes. Presume it's something to do with the way the epub's been created. I find that changing the font size sometimes sorts it out, but I'm sure that's not getting to the root of the problem.

Do you mean like you turn from page 236 to page 237 but really end up on page 400 with no way to read the last 153 pages (ie, going back is back to 236) ?
It happened to me with *one* book and was 'rectified' when I closed the book and re-opened it (ie, went to HomeScreen and then back in the book). I presume the T1 reader software has hiccuped on some weirdly-formed epub bit. |

Home button didn't help either and I didn't try fonts as LuvReadin has suggested. Since after reboot the book was shown properly, it's probably not the problem in the epub itself. And it was opened correctly from the PC. |

For the sake of argument, I'm gonna be a bit circumspect: Let's asume there are two types of eBooks, those aquired in the "public donain" and retail eBooks. With the later, I've had no problems at all. Even if I aquired them at the same kind of "place" as the former. The former, however show obvious signs of totally inconsistent formating(which shouldn't surprise anyone, thanks to all the options calibre or sigil offer). I use Calibre too. What's helped me is: In the "Common Options" of "Conversion": "Filter Style Information" check "Fonts", "Padding" and "Margins" I go on to add an "Extra CSS", but that's for my own font preference. You gotta convert the original ePub, obviously, and excange the old one on the reader. Anyway, since then I've not had any probs with the converted books. Anything new that comes on my reader is converted. For the affected stuff still on the device: it's not worth the hassle. |
