How to update Aldiko?
I have Aldiko Premium 2.0 and would like to update to 2.1. I was not able to update directly from within Aldiko. I tried downloading from the website (free version), but it was still version 2.0.
What am I doing wrong? Should I uninstall 2.0 before downloading the newer version? ![]() |

As far a I can see, although Googling gives a lot of "sources" the only legitimate one for the new 2.1 version is the Android Market at $2.99; the Aldiko site is still posting the 2.0.127 version for their download...

The version I have is 2.0. It looks nothing like the new version from the site. For example, the home page has 6 icons, not 4.
I would have thought it would automatically update to the newer version once I was connected to the internet (Overdrive did). |

I have 2.1 (Premium version not free) and while it looks a little different, I don't find much difference in the "functionality" of the app really other than a cleaner look... pretty much all the features have remained the same.
The update will come later with the free version, on Aldiko's support page they say that updates will follow later for any free version, paying for Premium allows you to get the updates quicker (and no ads)... What's the difference between the free version Aldiko app and the premium version Aldiko app? Aldiko posted this on January 18, 2011 11:24 The free version is advertisement supported while the premium version is not. Both the free and premium versions have the same set of features at this point except the premium version will get faster updates. Last edited by Cdesja5; 02-20-2012 at 07:51 PM. |

I think, like many other ad-supported free apps, the ads only appear if you have WiFi turned on.
