Command to killl/restart browser?
Frequently when using the browser it will crash, usually after it fails to load a page. Most of the time I can exit to the home screen, but if I try to open the browser again, it will never load, just crash the Kindle completely most times. the only way to get it to work again is to reboot the Kindle, which takes at least a minute every time. Is there anything I can do to restart the browser without completely rebooting?
I'm not certain if the browser closes when it crashes - if it isn't, then a simple kill command should work, but I am just a beginner at Linux, so I can't yet figure it out myself. Many thanks to anyone that can help. ![]() Last edited by sjheiss; 02-16-2012 at 07:40 PM. |

Try "killall wafapp".
Update: Ouch, sorry, this will probably only work on the Kindle Touch. Try to get a list of running apps ("ps aux") and see if there is something that might be the browser, then try to kill that one. Last edited by ixtab; 02-16-2012 at 07:58 PM. |
