Upgrade/Delete Books Issue
Since I upgraded to calibre 0.8.39 this evening, I've had all kinds of strange problems with my kobo interfacing with calibre. Here's a calibre error detail: database disk image is malformed
Traceback (most recent call last): File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\device.py", line 82, in run File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\device.py", line 339, in _books File "site-packages\calibre\devices\kobo\driver.py", line 299, in books DatabaseError: database disk image is malformed Anyone have a clue what to do, ebook worms? Quote:
(Calibre Should not be running) delete it Start Calibre, Wait for the task wheel to stop (can take some minutes as it is searching your Kobo and rebuilding). Always use the (safely) Eject feature and wait for the On Device column to disappear before pulling the cord. Last edited by theducks; 02-15-2012 at 12:10 PM. Reason: Strike poor advice |

That refer refers to the kobo database not metadata.calibre. You'll need to hard reset your kobo to fix it.

Cheers.
Thanks for the prompt response time. I'll take both of your pieces of advice.

Restored not the answer??
Hey Dudes;
I restored the Kobo to the factory presets. Then I reloaded my Kobo's files that I had backed up. Calibre now gives me a new failure to communicate warning message: database disk image is malformed Traceback (most recent call last): File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\device.py", line 82, in run File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\device.py", line 339, in _books File "site-packages\calibre\devices\kobo\driver.py", line 299, in books DatabaseError: database disk image is malformed I figure I re-downloaded the bad file ".py" when I dl'd my back-up files. What next? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

fixed
I did a factory restore, BUT did not re-download meta-info files from my kobo back up files. My Kobo is back in black type, and ready to read!
