Comments removed on device?

I just upgraded Calibre from 8.28 to 8.38 and added 3 new books. On the device though where the description usually is the new books say "Comments have been removed as the SONY reader chokes on them."

I've never had that problem with my Sony reader and I'd like the full comments back. Is there a setting somewhere that will allow it?

Also, is there a way to get the comments to show on the reader itself without having to do a conversion to add the comments as a page?
