searching a document based on highlighted text

Hi,

I have a kindle touch and am trying to solve one (well at least one) problem. I'm using my kindle to read pdf-s (mainly academic) which often times have foreign words with special characters (not available on kindle keyboard). It makes it impossible to search a document for words containing special symbols. I was hoping it would be possible to make a search based on highlighted word but so far I was unable to find this option (according to kindle support it's impossible). Does anyone know about any additional application which would enable such a search? It would make my life so much easier...
