How many books do you have on your Kobo Wifi?
How many books do you have on your Kobo Wifi? When you go on the Kobo site it says that you can put over 1000 books on the device (not counting an SD card). I have about 350 books on mine and I only have about 155 MB left

do you have PDFs on there? I think that calculation is based on ePUBs only.
PDFs can be a lot bigger.

I personally store all my ePUBs on the SD card, so if/when things go horribly wrong and I have to restore to factory settings, I don't lose my books.

No, I don't have PDF files, only books bought on the Kobo site and a couple of the original free books that came with the reader.

Unfortunately their advertisement is a little deceptive, but it is possible. on the touch, there's about 1400mb of space available on it, so if you divide it by 1000 books, each book would have to be 1.4mb or so in size. With the 29books I currently have on my system, the average size is about 4mb, with the smallest being 67kb, and the largest being 23mb. If my average maintains true, I should be able to fit in 350 books. Of course now they are forcing even more previews to us, this number drops a bit.

I have 575 (rough estimate at 115 pages of books x5 per page.) I don't have many PDFs, only a handful of comics. I am using about 700 MB for books currently.

If you'e asking me, I use a 2GB SDcard and I have about 200 books on it, some of those are PDFs, it's using about 6% of the storage.

If your books or comics have a lot of graphics that will suck up space rapidly. The adage A picture is worth a thousand words needs to be updated as a picture might take up to 20,000 words or many more.

I've got about 280 books on mine with quite a bit of space left over. Now that we finally have shelves I plan on adding a lot more books!

Of the 438 books on my Kobo Wifi only 31 are >1.4MB, only 49 are greater than 1MB.

I'm using 484MB of 1110MB internal storage.
I'm using 36MB of 3815MB (4GB) external storage.

Only 53 books are on the external card (which is starting to seem unnecessary) and of them only 3 are > 1.4MB

The vast majority of my books contain no pictures or graphic emblishments. The ones that do are the larger ones.

After an update yesterday I have 844MB used on 1108MB available but it only gives me 301 books (I have 441 books in my Kobo library) I'm beginning to wonder if I should get rid of my Kobo Wifi and upgrade to a Touch

All my books live on the PC until I want to read them. I use Calibre to sideload on demand. Why load up a zillion books with all the processing time that entails? If your device hiccups, factory reset will wipe all those books away like danskmacabre said. At the moment, I have 6 books loaded.

Almost all my books come from the Kobo store so they are loaded from my Kobo library
