Buying a Kindle for daughter does she need her own Amazon account
My middle daughter (huge reader) has asked for a Kindle for her birthday, however a mother in the school playground has said there could be a problem as she will have to have her own Amazon account so we can buy books for her device.
However, she will be 9 on her birthday and obviously won't have a card or account to buy books. Is there anyway that we can link her Kindle to my Amazon account so we can manage her books for her? Thank you |

When I bought my Kindle 3 it was automatically registered to my account. If you buy the Kindle using your account at Amazon you can add it on to your own account as an additional device. For example I have the K4PC on both my Desktop and Netbook computers so altogether I have 3 places that I can download a given book to. The two computers and the actual Kindle 3. Having her on your account will also allow you to make sure she isn't spending $ on books that she doesn't have as well as being able to keep an eye on what books she does buy.

One solution is to register to an account with no credit card attached, and use gift vouchers to buy books. |

I preferred the first option listed as. I have no 'nasty' books so it seems like the better option to be honest.
With the first option, would I name the other devices as e.g. Daughters Kindle. Then when I buy a book for here and it says send to. I click the combo box and select her name? |
