Kindle DXG -- share the computer's connection via USB?

I have a DXG and want to connect to the internet, but not use the 3G. Is it possible to somehow share the computer's internet via USB?

That would be easily doable via some scripts, but the question would rather be: how to convince the UI framework that it is connected? I guess this will be much harder, since the UI doesn't really know about alternative ways of connecting to the internet.
