Hi guys I just ran an ePub through the new Online validator found here:
http://validator.idpf.org/

Because threepress redirects to it now.

Anyway it threw up a bunch of error messages on my images...

It now apparently WILL NOT accept spaces (%20) in file names...

So all my screen shots "Picture 1.png" etc. Are now wrong and will not validate.

So it now looks like I'm going to have to redo a whole bunch of epub to update the image file names.

Content.opf
Plus all the links inside the .xhtml files

Are these people for real?

Anyone else having this?

In general I avoid having spaces in file names for ePUB's. I have had to many issues with filenames with spaces in the past for other things, that I generally avoid it.

Isn't %20 an URL encoding for webservers? Does it work with files you load locally in an epub? I agree though that it's best to avoid altogether...

Use Sigil. It can help you with the renaming. It will handle the OPF renameing for you after you rename the files. But you will have to do the renaming yourself inside the XML files.
