kobo desktop setup will not install

Have just tried to install the kobo desktop but I am getting a "usb driver could not be installed" error message and the installation aborts.
I'm running MS Vista OS.
Have tried 3 install attempts with same result.
Would appreciate any help with this.

Try right clicking and running as administrator. That might solve it.

Thanks for the reply RareBird - I've tried both signing on as administrator and right clicking to run as admin when the "usb driver could not be installed" box pops up, but to no avail.
I've successfully installed the Kobo desktop on both my W7 and XP desktops and they download, install and work fine so I'm thinking it's a Vista problem.
The offending computer is my daughter's Sony Vista laptop. She uses the usb ports constantly so no problems with physical connections.
I've tried connecting the Kobo ereader directly to the laptop but it comes up with the same message - i.e. usb driver not installed.
Any more ideas anyone?

I think what happened on my Laptop with Vista was that the USB driver was installed by Vista when I plugged in the KT.

USB Drivers in kobosetup

Just to say that I am experiencing the same problem. I am quite unable to install kobosetup because the installation fails at the USB drivers stage. I tried installing before I connected my new Kobo so it is not because the drivers are already installed.

I also am using Vista. Did you resolve the problem?
