calibre issue
so i had 0.8.33 installed and as of the last couple of days it would start up and run for 3 to 4 sec and then crash no error or anything the program would just seem to shut off. so i decided to reinstall it today when the new version came out. so i did a uninstall on my current installation and Dl'd the newest and tried to install it. now it just sits at checking for free space this could take up to 5 min and it has been there for the last 2 hours.

One thing to try is to install 0.8.34 and see if that works.

Your anti-virus may be getting in the way
A recent definition update may have gone south

Only use Calibre installation files from the Official source (or alternate that is linked on the download page). Then try with your A/V disabled.

If that doesn't work and you run Windows, try going into safe mode and try installing from there.

If the installer isn't working for you you can always use the portable version, http://calibre-ebook.com/download_portable

sorry every one thanks for the replies. turns out is was the new beta version od spybot seek and destroy. as soon as i killed that it installed without a hitch i am assuming that was also what was making it crash.
