question to dealers on returns policy

From what I read in the forum, it seems not uncommon for people to order two or more readers, try them for a few days and then return the one they do not like. I am not too sure what the terms are elsewhere, but in the UK you do have at least seven days to return it with a full refund, no question asked. You do in general have to pay delivery charges. My question is: what do dealers do with the returned item? Strictly speaking, this is now a used item, even if it has been used just for a few days. But I'd presume it would be re-sold as new, is this the case?

I don't think that they can legally sell them again as new. I would think most retailers would offer them for sale again as refurb or open box items.

Items returned for any reason go back to the manufacturer as they aren't new any more... at least from reputable outlets although some may resell, if just a "I didn't like" or "It was too complicated!!" as display/refurb/return (equally valid if clearly labelled and discounted)...
