Is This the Latest Firmware Revision?
I was given a Sony PRS-500 from a person in my eBook group. It handles ePub books well and seems to work great. I was wondering if this is the latest in firmware or if I need to reflash to a newer level?

I believe the firmware that handles ePub books was the last update for the 500.
Originally the 500 did not read ePub's and had to be sent to Sony for them to install the firmware. |

Actually, it might not be the latest. There was a bug in the first ePub firmware for the 500 where it drained the battery too quickly. Sony did come out with another firmware that fixed it. But that too required sending in the 500 for the new firmware to be installed.
I suggest giving Sony a call and asking if you do have the latest firmware for the 500. Last edited by JSWolf; 12-29-2011 at 04:51 PM. |
