which large reader should I buy?

I currently have 6 inch sony T1, it's good for epub but it is still too small for PDF, I would like to get another reader, something between 7 to 9 inch, and must have E ink not LCD.

thanks.

To get a reader of size that's any good, you'll need to spend more (or as much) then you would for a tablet that would do the job. Once you get to 9.7", the price get's really outrageous for something decent.

I am satisfied with my original Kindle DX. The newer DX is here. Compared to what I paid for my DX a couple of years ago, this price is a bargain.

There are basically only two options: Pocketbook 912 or Onyx M92.
They cost in Europe around 350 €.

all i can say is, it is enough to have a look in onyx forums for a few minutes to erase the name from your mind for a life time.

You can't say much about the M92, because it's a new product. Only few shops in Europe have it on stock, though it doesn't change the fact that the rest of the Onyx family reputation is rather bad.

Onyx had an excellent reputation until they released their first large readers. The M90 and M91 varieties are to be avoided at all costs, but they seem to have got it right with the M92. The first reviews are quite positive.

I love my Kindle DX Graphite.
The built in PDF support is so-so.
Installing Duokan will give you much more control over your PDFs.

If you can hold off for a month, I'd wait for more details on the jetBook color and whatever gets announced at CES in mid January.

As FinancialWar said there aren't many choices on the market today -- I'm crossing my fingers for the near future. There just have to be more Triton eInk devices in the pipeline.

There are several videos that jsbach made comparing the Onyx M92 and the PB903: you can check them out here, they are very instructive!

The JetBooks color only has a resolution of 800x600. They yet again fudge the facts to fit what they want. The B&W layer is 1600x1200, but when you have the color layer, it become 800x600 as you need multiple pixels to generate one color pixel.

If you hadn't said that LCD is a no-go I'd say take a tablet.
Chances are that even a 7" tablet will do better for PDFs than a 9.7" e-Ink reader.

Why don't you want a LCD display? Most advantages beside battery live are at least debatable.

Secondly what PDFs do you want to view?
- mostly text
- text + mathematic formulas
- text + pictures
- text + anything with colour
