My device is not detected by calibre

Acer Icona A100, my device is not detected by calibre.
Right click>Send to Device>,,,Main Memory, Card A, Card B, is all greyed out.
I can, however, send via Right click>Save to Disk>,,,,,,all this works fine.
I'm running Win 7, Calaber 8.31.......
The Acer USB debugging is ON.
I have Moon+Reader Pro,,,,,and the Acer bloatware.
I did the sticky at the top of this forum, here is the output of the debug device detection:

Your device is not showing up as a removable drive, and that is required for Calibre to be able to recognise it.

Wellllll,,that is not new news to me,,,I can read the debug report!

It does show up like this:

OK,,,,so it shows up as a Portable Media Player, not Removable Storage.
Is there any way to get Caliber to detect my device?

No, unless you can find the option within your device to mount it as a USB drive.

Alternatively you can use the Connect to folder feature (which treats a folder as a device) to send the books you want to read to a folder. Then manually send the contents of the folder to your device.

Device: kobo touch
My Kobo touch was not detected anymore by Calibre and I also had the log 'DriveError: No removable drives found'.

To fix it (on Windows 7 64 bits):
- connect the device to a USB port
- double click Control Panel/System and Security/Administrative tools/Computer/management/Device Manager/Disk drives/<device disk>
- change the removal policy from "quick removal" to "better performance"
- reboot ?

Now the device should be seen by Calibre (and you also need to eject it before disconnecting ).

This is BAD advice for any removable drive.

'Quick removal' prevents Write behind caching, which means your computer will wait until things get written before giving control back to you.
'Performance' fakes (by spooling) the final write and lets you get back to work.
If you fail to use Safe Eject and WAIT for the OK message

@TheDucks: +1 with an addenda:

If making this change works it is likely because the change forced Windows to refresh the driver for the device.

If simply rebooting your system doesn't work, you might try this method and see if the device remounts. If it does, promptly change it back to "quick removal" and reboot again without attempting to actually transferring files to/from the device while in the "better performance" mode.

Your device does not report a vendor name to windows, see

VEN_&PROD_NEXT2

A properly working device would show something like

VEN_SONY&PROD_PRS300

IN this case calibre cannot detect your device. Use connect to folder to connect to it instead.
