PRS-T1 Download directly to e-book ?

Hello there

Ok, maybe I am totally misunderstanding something here ? I am from Denmark, and have just got the new PRS-T1 reader with wifi, I thought that would be smart that one could download directly to the reader via wifi, but when I go to a Danish bookstore on the internet and will buy an e-book from them, they sent the book to my e-mail, where I can download it ! I mean, then I have to open my computer, open my e-mail, download the book to Adobe and then transfer it to the reader ?? not smart in my opinion, can you go to your e-mail via the reader and download the book that way ? hope you can help me, thank's in advance.

I am also from denmark eventhough I live in uk. I have never seen the system they use in denmark anywhere else. I download it onto computer and then export it using sony software. Sony are ment to bring out reader store(certainly in uk don't know about denmark) where you will be able to do it on device. Also I know other people on this forum have used bookshops and downloaded onto device by using t1 browser ie kobo etc. If you have webmail you could always use browser on t1 to check email on device. As danish books are not drm protected but watermarked there won't be any problems with device being authorised or not.

Thank's for your reply, ok I understand that no danish book stores have that service yet ? maybe I could try it out using a book store in another country, problem is, they only sell to people living in their country ? allso, I have tried to open my webmail via e-book wifi browser, but that has failed ? why ? and if I could do it, should the e-book have some software to install/read the book ?

unfortunately for you Denmark seems to be a bit behind with ebooks. It is a problem that you only can buy books from certain sellers in certain contries. luckily for me uk is quite good. dont forget:

alot free books available which you will be able to download from various sources ie Guthenburg collection. try and google it and you will find others as well. there are alot of free books on this forum in english nicely formattet.

I know there is a trial in denmark with library ebook lending so check that out. this was the killer feature that sold me on the T1. I can sit and browse library collection on my t1 and then reserve and download books onto device. the danish library needs to use overdrive for this service to work and you need to authorise your reader which is done with the sony pc software. I dont know what system they are using but check it out.

I dont know why webmail on device doesnt work as i am not a great tecnological wizzkid.

hope this helps and i have to say that i think the t1 is great so persist and i am sure you will find a way.

Thank's again ! yeah I know, we are a bit behind here i DK in many ways he he, ok so what you say is, I can log on to eks. Guthenburg on the reader via wifi and download books for free ? even though I am from DK ? what is that trial here in DK called lending ebook ? could be interesting to see if thats work ! no, I don't know either why I can not open my webmail on the reader, maybe it is because it is secured in some way ? there is a lock mark besides the URL when I try to log in via the reader ! maybe other in here knows what to do ? thank's in advance.
