Calibre hangs on adding large HTML file

I have a 4.5M single HTML file with about 2000 png images totaling 4M in size, all generated from applying TeX4HT to a LaTeX source of a math book with around 30 chapters and many figures.

I want to convert it to MOBI for reading on Kindle. However, adding that 4.5M HTML to Calibre library always fail with a message saying that Calibre hangs on importing and that please try adding in small batches and find out the one that is causing the problem.

What can I do in this case? Thanks!

add it using the command line or zip up the html and images yourself.
