Sony PRS 950 Trouble with margins

I have a Sony PRS 950 and I am having a problem with the margins of many commercial books being very wide on both the right and left sides so I am left with only a narrow column of text. Adjusting the reader's Page Mode setting to Margin Cut does not seem to do anything. Any suggestions?

What I do is strip the DRM and edit the CSS to remove the wide margins. Sometimes it's really easy and other times it takes more effort, but once done, I have a book that looks good to me.

Yes, if one could strip DRM and run an epub to epub conversion through Calibre for each book with the problem it might be a solution. I was hoping there might be a way through the device itself. Seems like a glaring problem with the firmware of an otherwise excellent device. Too bad Sony doesn't do updates!

ePub > ePub via Calibre is not really a solution. It's more of making a mess. I've seen what can happen when you do that and it is not pretty. The best way to do it is to edit the CSS. That way you don't mess up the ePub.
