Apple iPhone in Europe
Last Friday - November the 9th the iPhone went on sale in Great Britain. There were long queues of people wanting to buy the device. The sale began exactly at 17:00 hours. iPhone costs 269 pounds (563 dollars, 383 euros), plus you have to sign contract with O2 for 18 months for 35 pounds, 45 pounds or 55 pounds per month.
On Friday the iPhone also made a debut in Germany where it is tied to T-Mobile mobile provider contract. In Germany the phone costs 400Eur ($587), and 2 year contracts through T-Mobile start at 49Eur ($72) month, along with a 25Eur ($37) installation fee. Ouch. What a pricetag. It looks like the "electronic device price exchange ratio" (TM) remains firmly at $1 = 1Eur ![]() |
