enTourage eDGe
Can anyone help me? I have an enTourage eDge that I cannot use. In May I tried to update it but each time I went to the support site, the download failed. I have a list of errors on the Reader screen that won’t go away. Every time I try to open a book from the library the reader tries to open but the book does not appear. Instead a list of errors comes up. I became ill and was inn therapy for a while. When I was able to go back again there was no support for me. I have many books that I down loaded in my library but cannot open any of them. On the Reader side of the tablet there is a list of updates/errors I need but I have nowhere to go for the updates. These updates/errors listed are as follows:
Code 45 An unexpected device error has occurred. Please try again. Code 46 Network connection error, please try again. Adobe DRM ErrorsCode 60 Your Adobe DRM ID or password is invalid. Code 61 Your date, time or time zone is not set properly. Please update your time settings and retry. Code 62 you have already fulfilled this content using another Adobe account. Code 63 You are not licensed to view this adobe content. Code 64 DNS resolving to an IP address timed out. Please check your internet connection and try again. Code 65 The Adobe ACSM file is corrupt. Please try again. Code 66 This device is not activated with Adobe. You must register before you can proceed. Code 67 You have reached the maximum number of 6 activations with this Adobe ID. Please use a different Adobe ID to activate this device. Code 68 There were issues downloading the content from the network. Code 69 Network connection error. Please try again. (Timeout error from Adobe.) Code 70 Network connection error. Please try again. (Timeout error from enTourage Systems, Inc.) Code 79 Unknown Adome DRM error. Software Update Errors It's as if all my information was deleted. I tried the last of October and today to re-register and got a Code 80 error, whatever that is. HELP!!!!!!!!!!! |

Hi Camy, welcome!
![]() First, do not panic. I am fairly confident your eDGe will be back working properly soon. Have you read Obsessed's excellent Resources thread (https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...php?t=132878)? I'm pretty sure he discusses error codes and the 80 error code in particular. I'm not the most technical of people, so maybe I shouldn't be the one to advise you. Do you have the big eDGe or the Pocket eDGe? You will get any updates you need from this forum (see the thread I linked to above). There are work-arounds for getting your eDGe back with Adobe, and the other errors look to me like they'll be solved with a reboot or, at worst, a factory reset or "golden" update. If you can back up what you have on the device, I suggest you do so ASAP. Have you tried pulling the battery (big eDGe) or using a paperclip in the reset hole (pocket eDGe)? That should, I think, get rid of the error messages on the reader side. Let us know what you try and how it works. There are instructions throughout this forum for each step. If you can't find them yourself I or others will help you search. Good luck! Hope you'll soon be enjoying your eDGe again!! ![]() |

Like Filark said, if you desire to update your device you will need to download the update and install it manually. However, this is not absolutely necessary if you are content with the the original operating system (Dingo).
Errors 45 and 46 are registration errors. These are a result of you trying to re-register the eDGe with a now defunct Entourage server. Do NOT attempt to re-register your eDGe using the Registration Wizard. The first thing I would try for the other errors (60-69, 79 and 80) is to try opening one of the books again and see what happens. Adobe has been known to have intermittent server issues. With this many errors it is possible that their servers are having problems. Also, verify and update the date and time on your eDGe if necessary. The eDGe used to sync its time with the Entourage server, however since the server no longer exists it can't. I'm not sure where you live but, many states ended Daylight Savings Time at the end of October and this could be part of your problem. (Adobe Error Code 61 - Incorrect Date and Time). After you verify date and time and try to open a book and the errors persist try reauthorizing Digital Rights Management (DRM) on your eDGe. It may have been wiped when you attempted to re-register the eDge. You have to manually link your Adobe account to the Pocket Edge. See my Resource Sticky to for instructions on how to do this. If you need any additional help please ask. Forum members are standing by to assist. Last edited by obsessed2; 12-05-2011 at 07:33 AM. |

Thanks to Filark and Obsessed2 for the posts. I had no seen the posts from 12-04-2011.
I came to the site and searched for replys but did'nt find them. I am new to the site and have not learned how to navigate through it yet. Thanks to e-mail I got the message that there were posts and just found them. Unfortunately I am away from home and will not return until Jan. 5, 2012. I will try what has been suggested and will contact you if I have any problems. Thank you so much as I was getting a little depressed. There is hope now. Camy |

I'm back home and have tried what you and Obsessed2 suggested and still can't open any purchased books. I can open a book that was already on the EE when I got it. When I try to open any previously purchased books, I get all the same errors I stated in the original message. Camy1025 |

I had tried to re-register. What can I do now? I think I have Ermine. How can I determine what OS I have? Thanks, Camy1025 |

Welcome, home, Camy.
![]() To determine your OS go to About eDGe in the Settings app. The version is listed under Build number. Is opening books your only problem? If so, it sounds like an Adobe DRM issue more than anything (to me -- but what do I know?? ![]() A couple more questions: What happened when you tried reauthorizing your eDGe with Adobe? Where did you get the books you can't open? If I remember correctly, you have a big eDGe, right? What we call an EE? It is the best eReader!! (In my humble opinion. ![]() Last edited by Filark; 01-06-2012 at 02:50 AM. Reason: I gave instruction for the PE, not the EE -- d'oh! :smack: |

I wouldn't update just yet. You need to verify that Digital Rights Management (DRM) is enabled on your Edge. Hook up your EE to a PC using a USB cable and opening Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) which is authorized to your PC with your Adobe account and see if the Edge shows up in ADE. If it does, this means the Edge's DRM is enabled. If not, ADE should offer to enable DRM to the Edge which likely will correct your problem. http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/faq/ Where did you buy the books from? The Code 45 and 46 errors suggest the books appear to be attempting to contact Entourage which indicates you may have purchased the books from them. Is this a correct assumption? If so, try exporting the books from the Library to a USB drive and try adding them to the ADE Library and then transferring them back to the Edge. Because you re-registered your EE you may have to re-copy the DRM protected books from a PC to the EE using Adobe Digital Editions for the books to be re-authorized to your reader. I am going to try the DRM fix you suggested above tonight and will let you know the out come. I have the EE. My Fiancé bought us the EEs from enTourage via HSN. I registered both of them through their site. We purchased numerous books and shared the same Adobe account. The enTourage Support Tech walked me through setting the EEs up so that we would not have any trouble reading any of the books. We downloaded books on both. He was able to complete some othe the updates and he is still able to read all the books. We both have amazon app on our EE. He does not have a problem especially now that we've come to this site. Just mine is not able to read the already purchased books in my library. The stats on our EEs are the same, we compared them. Model number = edge Android version = 2.2.1 Kernel = 2.6.34 (buildmaster@zeke #1) Build number = ERMINE-0.9 Thank you so much for your help. I will be in touch soon. Camy1025 |
