Books on SD card won't open
I just bought the STR Limited Edition. I put my SD card in that has all of my books on it but none of the books will open. All of the books that I have on there are in epub format, it is the SD card that I had in my classic Nook and they worked just fine. Any ideas what I need to do to get the card to work properly in the new reader?

Were they DRM'd books? If so, you may need to remove drm before you can open them.

Should also mention, the main issue that will keep the Nook from opening it is that is must be correct format: epub or pdf file-type.
2nd reason would be presense of DRM from another website or associated with a different type of ereader. The fix: you can convert file-type to epub, check our our Calibre form. For DRM, must be stripped . Instructions are not allowed on this forum due to possible legal issues, but you can always Google "Apprentice Alf" for more information Vic Vic |

Would the DRM still affect them if I was able to read them on my other Nook? I just have a bunch of classics that I downloaded for free from places like the MR Library that I don't think had DRK to begin with.

IIRC you will only see side loaded book in the library if they are in the My Files\Books
folder otherwise change library settings from all to everything |

If the books were bought from B&N:
- Make sure they are not ereader format books (".PDB"). The Nook Classic is the only Nook model supporting ereader books. - Make sure there is only one dot in the filename (".EPUB"), remove all other dots from the filename. - Copy one of the books from the SD-card to the internal memory of the Nook to see if that makes a difference. If the books are non-B&N books: Make sure your Nook is authorized in ADE (Adobe Digital Editions). |
