Kindle Keyboard doesnt sleep

My Kindle keyboard is not going to sleep. I tried sliding and moving the power switch for 15sec, but nothing happens.

Can anyone help?

Slide the power switch once and the screensaver picture should popup and that's as asleep as it's going to get ... does it do that? try restarting it from the menu , settings , menu again and down to restart

A discharged battery could be the problem.

I had something similar happen recently. I just held the power switch for a while. I didn't pay much attention to just how long, and it powered down completely. It did the long reboot. Haven't had a problem since.

I never thought to try the restart from menu option, so that may work.
