Alas fictionwise micropay woes

I haven't used fictionwise in ages.. I was probably one of the last folks to get suckered into the buying program before they stopped being relevant, and I still have a moderate amount of micropay left (that hasn't been vanished away, luckily)

Fictionwise seems to be predominantly romance and erotica these days -- genres which are not my particular favorite -- is there any way to convert fictionwise micropay into something more useful?

it appears that fictionwise has dispensed with any capability to offer gift cards?
Is there still an option to buy books as a gift?
Is it legal/legit to offer to buy books for another?
