Kindle Survey

Hi All

My name is Niall and I am an IT student at Sunderland University. I am currently doing a UXD (usability) study on the Kindle and would greatly appreciate it if anyone could spare 2 minutes to complete a short on-line survey. Its totally anonymous and just ticking boxes (no typing).

Took the survey. You really need to point out for which Kindle(s) this survey is specific. Obviously there are a few questions about the keyboard, so that means the survey is not applicable to the new K4 generation Kindles. Does the survey include K1 and K2 and K3? Perhaps you should have a question where you have the surveyors select which Kindle they have as that makes a big difference in screen quality.

Switching the scale of [good<->bad] at random seems a good way to get bad stats.

Done- although being from the US, a couple of the questions gave me pause( education level and how to convert my yearly income to pounds

).

Yep, that's very poorly designed. Almost got caught out a couple of times, as you simply expect the bad --------- good scale to be the same way round?

Although the "Where do you buy books" should have more options (like 3rd party and/or freely obtained books), so that couldn't correctly be answered by me.

Since I'm piloting a course where Kindles will be involved, your questionnaire was very helpful in thinking about my methodology. I hope you'll share your observations (if not the raw data ^_^) with us?

Btw, I also supervise students in HCI and want to make electronic reading a theme next year. Sadly, they don't all have ereaders/media tablets, but there's a LOT you can do in a browser... so I'm curious to know why you're doing this study?
