Authorization

I got the T1 delivered to Sweden yeasterday. I have installed the software Reader for PC. I have authorized the computer. I can download books to the Reader for PC. When I connect the T1 it is recognized byt the Reader for PC but when i try to syncronize the T1 with the Reader for PC it says it is not possible because it is not authorized. How to authorize?

Have you installed the most recent Reader software from the Sony site? If you have plug your T1 into the PC, touch the data transfer mode on the T1 screen then open the reader software. You should see three "tabs" along the top "My Library", "Store" and "Reader" and when you click on the one for the Reader (T1) it should automatically authorise it......

The Sony Europe support site is pathetic virtually no information. he Sony site also states that when you register your reader you get a download of 100 classic books. There should be a link from the My Products page of the Sony site when you are logged in but there isn't one. I've emailed the support site to ask how to get the 100 books.....I know that you can download them from elsewhere but it would be easier to have a single download.

Yes I have the latest software. My T1 is on the "tab" and I can watch the content of the T1 when I click on the Reader tab.
I have a book in My library in Reader for PC. The problem is I cannot get it into the T1. I suppose that I in order to get it into the T1 I should syncronize it with the T1. When I try to syncronize it I get the message "You must authorize the device before syncing the content". How to authorize?

This might have changed, but when I authorized my Sony I needed three things:
The Sony Software (which you have)
ADE account ( which you have)
AND an account to the Sony Store to authorize the reader. ( Not sure if you have that?) ( I put my location as the US and signed up. Handy for US freebies, too)

You cannot sign up for an account with Sony Store in Sweden. They tell you that in the manual but they do not tell you how to do if you live outside the regions where you can use Sony Store. Finally after two days I found out how to do it. The trick is to deactivate the Sony Store and that is done when you are in the Reader for PC. You go to Edit/Preferences/Region and choose Others. That solves the problem and the unit is authorized. It is a shame this information is not available in the manuals. Neither do Sony Support help you when you send them a mail. Maybe this will help all others in a lot of forums that have the same problem I had.

I had terrible problems authorising my reader. I had to change the Sony software location from UK to US, then select the reader, pop back and then choose UK again before the "authorise" button appeared and worked for me.

I am located in NZ and I made the location USA and it went though without any trouble. I presume "others" would be ok also. I would be interested to see if it worked?.
