Calibre Language Setting

Hello,

I downloaded Calibre today and installed it. After this, I had to select a language. I wanted to select Deutsch but clicked Dänisch. After this I couldn't change the language again.

Deinstall and new installation doesn't help, because the program don't asked again for the language. And i don't speak dutch.

Can someone helps me?

Uninstall the program, then completely delete the "C:\Program Files\Calibre" folder ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Calibre" if you're running 64-bit Windows), then re-install again. That should sort out the problem.

Wouldn't you want to drop the Calibre preferences?

I believe they are in %APPDATA%\calibre or C:\Users\_your_account\AooData\Roaming\Calibre or c:\My Documents\_Your_Account\AppData\Roaming\Calibre

Just drop all files / directories in the Calibre directory there.

My mistake - I thought the preferences were in the Calibre directory. If they are in AppData then yes, you're absolutely right.

He could, but if he is new, going two levels and a dropdown box deep into the preferences menu would require guidance. I was going to do some quick screen captures to show the OP, but I have an entirely different icon set and might confuse the OP more.

Maybe you could guide the OP through the process.

I don't know how you guys make the nice screen captures here, but all I do is:

Click the Preferences icon on the toolbar
In the Interface section, click Look and Feel
Choose your language from the dropdown on the right
Restart Calibre

That should be easier than going into the directories...

If you do not know your way around Calibre and it is in the wrong language how are you going to find the Preference icon or Interface section?

In this case screen shots showing the positions in a default layout might well be sufficient help.

Seeing as I said I don't know how to make screen shots, I'll leave it to you guys.
