Can't find CSV

I would like to export a CSV listing from Calibre. I have tried doing this following instructions elsewhere but I seem to stumble at a very important hurdle.
When I click the small arrow next to Convert, then choose Create a Catalog etc. I only get the options of BibTex, Epub and Mobi. From other contributors I believe I should be seeing CSV here also as an option. Is this belief correct?
I have created a Bib Tex list but it only seems to open in a Text document, not a spreadsheet.
Can somebody help me, please?

There should be 5 choice on the format list.
It may be device dependent.
Disconnect the device before trying and/or
try with the Send to device tick mark cleared.
You may need to exit first and restart the Catalog Creation.

I am not sure where the Send to devise is located (still learning). Can you help me out with this please?

OK
Not a attached reader problem.

The biggie question What version of Calibre and What O/S are you running it on?

The tick box is at the bottom of the same screen where you set the output format.

The calibre version was 0.8.23, have just updated to 0.8.24 - no change.

Running Windows 7 on my PC.

Found the send to device button, but it is unticked.

Try the following.
  • Go to Preferences - Miscellaneous - Click Open calibre configuration directory. Leave the directory folder open.
  • Exit calibre.
  • Once calibre closes rename the configuration directory by adding _old to the end.
  • Open calibre. This will create an entire new configuration directory.
  • You will now need to point calibre to your library.
  • Now that you have a fresh configuration try the catalog again.
If need be you can go back to your previous configuration by exiting calibre, deleting the new configuration folder and removing the _old from the original configuration folder's name. Then start calibre and everything will be back to where it was.

Good Luck.

The only way you wont see CSV/XML is if youve disabled the plugin for them. Go to Preferences->Plugins and look under catalog generator plugins
