Anyone else here joining in the National Novel Writing Month madness?

www.nanowrimo.org

Write a 50,000 word novel during the month of November. Madness? Well it can be done. I'll be doing it for the second time this year. Just squeaked out a win last year and hoping to do better this year.

I'm in the Cleveland forums as Rolard. Stop by and say hi if you join in.

Not this year-- a full time job plus two graduate classes (and a family, lest we forget, with two teenage daughters) is keeping me busy enough at present.

Though I would really like to do this in the future. I have an outline and about half the novel written -- does it still count if you start from previous work? I'd probably have to rewrite a bunch of it anyway.

I'm in the same situation, wanted very much to do it this year but it will have to wait for next year due to time constraints. I can't wait to do it. But don't want to show it to anyone because it will be very very bad on my first attempt.

Also figure I might use Naturally Speaking to transcribe from my Palm, hoping that will allow me to write more. Don't know though - it's much easier for me to think when I'm typing than speaking for some reason.

50,000 words is not that hard, I've done it lots of times in a month or less. Of course they have been proposals for Federal Government work. They were topics like "Nondestructive Testing of Monohulled Boats 20' and Under." (By the way, that one was a winner.)

Oh, I'll probably pass 50,000 words in November, easy. I write for work and classes both. I just don't have time to do another 50,000 words next month.

Though I'm starting to be tempted.
