PRS-T1 Synchronizing with the Reader for PC

Hi,

I've got my ebook reader last week. It's the first time I own an ebook reader.
I use it mostly to read PDF articles in my field.
I'm having trouble with the synchronisation process. It's like if it doesn't go both ways, looking for where the last changes have been made. I read an article and highlighted some text and put some notes on it. The next time I synchronized, the higlights and the notes were gone. I think the synchronisation process took the article on my Reader for PC library and replaced my article on my ebook reader. Do you have any suggestions for effective synchronisation ?
I don't know anything about Calibre. If I would use it, would I be able to keep my hightlights and notes ?

I don't know why notes and highlights wouldn't be kept. That sound weird. But i never really tried.
As to calibre, i know it even less.

There is an update to the Reader for PC software that claims it fixes keeping notes synced. However, many here say that it doesn't work.

I'm not sure about Calibre and notes. I'm sorry.

Thanks for your reply. I have checked the box for automatically checking for updates, so I should have the last version of the software.
If I use the feature to "protect" the book after I have read, highlighted and put notes in it, maybe I won't have this problem ?

Well I know that "protect"ing the book will prevent you from deleting the book. I don't see why it wouldn't preserve highlighting and notes added to it. Hmmm, I might play with that when I get home.
