Creative Excuses to Get a 505

Excuses that just might work to convince your significant other that you really, really need to get the new Sony PS-505 Reader today:

Carefully tap the current screen with a ball-preen hammer, close the Reader, and ask them to carry it for you. When you retrieve it later and discover that the screen is broken, constantly reassure them that you don’t blame them and it could have happened to anyone.
Tell them that your eye doctor said that you were straining your eyes too much and needed higher contrast when reading like the screen of the new 505.

What I did was tell my wife I was thinking of upgrading my reader. When she did not say no, I found some of the money, and the rest of most came from selling my 500. I was then able to get the 505.

You've heard of some evil genius online who's planning on releasing a nasty, paper eating virus in the open, and the only way to ensure literacy in the world is to buy an ebook reader.

With the rapidly rising rates of insurance, one emergency room visit due to an infected papercut could have paid for a new ereader. Therefore the better the screen looks the lower the chance of insurance costs going up.

Instead of losing money by selling your used books at a loss, you will SAVE money by NOT selling them (thus keeping them for full value). By upgrading the reader (or just adding a second) you effectively DOUBLE the value of all those books you can't sell!

When someone asks "What 'cha reading?" you can show them the latest political bestseller or treatise on current world economics and they'll never know that you just switched over from "Lady Rippers Hot Vampire Rendezvous, Part III". This means family reputation depends strongly on the speed of screen changes. I mean, please....does she want her friends to know what you REALLY read? I didn't think so.
