Exclamation Purchased an ebook from B&N in the UK

Hi everyone!
I knew that a couple of years ago, people were finding it hard to purchase ebooks from B&N internationally. However, to my suprise,I was able to do it out of curiosity and because I just wona Nook. How was this possible?
I've registered my Nook online and have entered my billing address. All located in the UK. Could I get in trouble for it?
Many thanks in advance!

You won't get in trouble. Even if they weren't supposed to sell it to you, you've done nothing wrong. Most likely, I'd guess, is that the book was available internationally because the publisher has international ebook publishing rights.

Just looked on the order details on my account and it does not mention any VAT.
I've also calculated the amount they would charge me from my account and it all seems to add up. Shall come back to let everyone know how it ends when they finally charge my card. Hopefully it's a positive scenario. Either way, I'll only be purchasing eBooks from B&N if it's not available here in the UK. A small treat for myself

I've just checked into my account and I was charged £6.48 ($10.33). I'm guessing that the extra 21p ($0.33) charge is the VAT. Not too bad I think.
I hope others find this helpful somehow

P.S. The eBook was £6.27 ($9.99).

No, that will be the fee added by your bank or credit card company for the currency conversion.

Can you buy the ebooks using Nook directly/download the ebooks wirelessly? I'm based in Germany but have an addy in the US. I've been buying books from the BN store on my laptop and transfer them via USB cable onto my Nook Touch. I didn't bother to set up WiFi for my Nook cause I just assume it wouldn't work...let us know! Next book I buy I'll try and see if I can do so directly through Nook.

There are only geo-restrictions when buying things. Not when dowloading them. If you buy books using your laptop you can download them to your Nook using Wifi. Just sync the library.
