Conversion and TOC

Hi,

I'll try and not get too complex but this is what I'm trying to do.

Convert LIT to EPUB then use EPUB Fixer 1.5.2 to create a TOC then convert the EPUB to MOBI.

This creates the TOC fine. However if I do a direct conversion then to MOBI (which is the format I want it in) it then re-creates a TOC at the end of the book (and leaves the original TOC at the start). If I tell it to do it at the start then I have two TOC's.

Is there any way to get it just use the EPUB one and not create another TOC? I tried telling it not to make a TOC but then it didn't use the one already there.

Many thanks!

check the check-box 'do not add a table of contents to book' in mobi output.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. If I tick that box then it removes the TOC created by epubfixer for the mobi (i.e. I can't click on TOC in the calibre reader) yet the links are still visible and clickable if I scroll down in the document.

Any ideas how to get it properly working?

As they should be for a mobi file. Don't use calibre's viewer to check to see if Mobi files are working correctly. Calibre's viewer is essentially an epub viewer and everything is converted to epub prior to being viewed.

Read this section of the FAQ for some insight into Mobi TOCs.

Good Luck.
