I have upgraded Kobo with the sudoku and writing pad but now it will give me blank pages on all my cbr files and I can't even upload them - does someone know about this problem and can help me?
Thanks! |

What firmware are you using? Settings/device information.

Do you mean 1.9.12? That is the current firmware.

Yes, it is the current firmware.
Kobo will give me blank pages for all cbr files. I was wondering if I could revert to the old program? I transfered my files and tried to do a reset - but I was still on the new firmware. Can I go back to the old firmware? |

Factory Reset
Hacking a device like the Kobo Touch is always a bit dangerous. It is obviously not going to explode by there is always a risk of making it unusable. Fortunately, the Touch provides 2 methods to restore the original 1.9.0 firmware: 1.If the original Nickel software is still working then 1.Press the Settings icon. 2.Select the Device Information icon. 3.Select the FACTORY RESET button. 2.else simply keep the Home button pressed during the boot process It should be noted that a factory reset REMOVES ALL EBOOKS from the device. Ebooks bought from Kobo will be automatically reinstalled when the device is re-configured but other ebooks are definitely lost. Remark: The device can be restarted by inserting a pin in the small hole at the back but that does not seem to restore the factory settings. NOTE- I TRANSFERED ALL MY BOOKS ON MY SD CARD - OR YOU CAN TRANSFER THEM ON YOUR DESKTOP - THE KOBO IS STILL REBOOTING - WILL LET YOU PEOPLE KNOW IF IT WORKS OUT! |

...seems to be working but now, the device is very slow compared to before - so, I am attempting a second "factory reset"...
TO BE CONTINUED... |

I don't have my KT at the moment so I can't tell you if mine would work with the files either. So I guess I won't be much help here.

Since updating last Friday Oct 14, I noticed that CBR/CBZ files I have did not work.
When I view them they display blank pages, just as you had pointed out. I didn't reset, but I tried deleting them from my kobo/sd card and reloading them. But now the kobo does not recognize them at all. They do not appear in my library anymore. In the mean time is there a way to downgrade so I can read CBR files? |

CBZ should be working, but CBR is a known issue with 1.9.12 and Kobo has said it will be fixed in 1.9.13 coming "soon".

There are also at least 4-5 threads about reverting to older firmware if that is something you want to do.

Ok - when is that new firmware coming out?
Because with factory resets - now - I can't use the internet function - wanted to go to the library (don't have a router @ home). And unless I upgrade - I don't have connectivity with the net. @ the same time - the upgrade automatically prevents cbr files... Geeze...my first ever problem with Kobo - hope the engineers and programmers do something quick... It's been so great till now... |

We are on the 2nd round of testing for the beta that addresses these issues. I don't have a crystal ball, but I doubt it will be much longer. It's an iffy thing to guess because sometimes things that seem like they would be easy to fix, aren't.

I'm just bumbing this up so that when the problem is solved, I can download the new version.
Right now, I can't use the net on my Kobo - or I can but I won't have access to my cbr files - and they were the seller for me... |
