Hello! Astak EZReader 5" PP in need of guidance!

Hello. I am new to this site & forum, & I am very excited to find a site like this!

To start off, I would REALLY appreciate any help &/or info on the use of ASTAK EZReader Pocket Pro 5". I bought it a while ago on Ebay & I must say I really like its straight forward no frills style, BUT I also must say- HELP!- I don't yet know how to find & add ebooks to read.

I am fairly new to computers also, but have been learning a lot.

I am thinking about purchasing a Nook 2 Simple reader, but I do like my Astak & would like to get use out of it.

If anybody could point me in the right direction for info & upgrades to the EZReader I would be most grateful.

Also (though I suppose this should be- & I am assume might already have been- a post of its own), what is your opinion...
Do I keep & learn my Astak EZReader or just go for a new Nook Simple??

Thanks a lot everybody!
I look forward to becoming a part of a community that READS!!

I have a 5" Pocket Pro EZReader (sometimes called PEZ), and I love it. I buy books from Smashwords and the Multiformat selections at Fictionwise, and from Baen, both their free library and the WebScription ebook store (don't let the name fool you; you don't have to subscribe to anything--although you can, and get books earlier than they're otherwise available).

There's also plenty of free ebooks--from the free library here at Mobileread, you can use any of the epub or mobi/prc ebooks, and some of the PDFs. (You can technically use any of the PDFs, but they may not all display well on the small screen.) Project Gutenberg is a great place for public domain ebooks (although the ones that are here, tend to be better--they've been carefully formatted with portable readers in mind), and a lot of authors release free ebooks at Feedbooks.

I add books by drag-and-drop, but the majority of Astak EZReader users probably use Calibre to manage and transfer their ebooks. (It's a great program; it's just that I bounce between several computers and haven't figured out how to coordinate it.) With Calibre, you can convert any non-DRM'd ebook to a format you can read; I prefer the epub support to the mobi/prc formatting.

Welcome to Mobileread!

Thank you so much you guys!

Gratitude to you Elfwreck for the info. I just downloaded calibre. Between that & the others I have something to start with.

Now I just have to learn how to get them on there- guess I will try to put some onto a memory card.

I'm psyched to finally get my ez going!

Thanks!
