SD card problems pre and post 1.9.10?

I had to send my Kobo Touch back to Canada for replacement because of a long series of problems culminating in its getting bricked, and I'm still waiting for the replacement.

Most of my problems were the dreaded corrupted database errors requiring multiple factory resets, and many of these database errors (it seemed to me) had something to do with my keeping the bulk of the ebooks I was reading on an 8GB SD card.

I'd like to go back to using an SD card, but I'm afraid to. Because 1.9.10 reportedly solves the database / factory reset error, I'm wondering if there's anyone out there who was having problems with an SD card before 1.9.10 and has noticed an improvement since they upgraded to 1.9.10, or whether they're still having problems.

What's your experience?

So just to clarify, it sounds like no problems with or without SD since 1.9.10?
