PRS-T1 SonyStyle PRS-T1 Pre-Orders

SonyStyle in the US started taking pre-orders either today or a little earlier. Odd that I signed up for the notification to let me know when they were available for pre-order and they didn't actually send out that e-mail.

So for those who are nutty enough to pre-order the T1 in the US, now's your chance.

Looks like shipping is aimed at being in the first week of October (~10/2).

Personally, if I was going to get a T1, I'd wait to be able to see them in person to then be able to decide which color I wanted. And if you may want a light, get the light cover.

J, I submitted my order for the reader but didn't see an opportunity to get a cover.

They are listed under accessories. When you add it to the cart, the store tried to sell me a couple covers, including the model with the light.

You can also go into the e-reader section and look under accessories, and add those to your cart.

Over the years I've signed up for email notifications for several Sony Reader models, but I've NEVER gotten any notifications. They sure bug the hell out of me with spam emails though, even after I unsubscribed.

Yes, that describes my experience as well.

It's not just the notifications I miss. I never hear from them when they release new software, OS upgrades, or anything. But then they spam me with mindless content ads...

My pre-order shows that it is to ship 9/16/2011. I ordered the black model with the black light case. I don't think the ship date is realistic but you never know.

I'd trust the date given on the product page (10/2) more than SonyStyle's ship estimates. They don't actually take pre-orders into account, so they always say it will ship the day of, or the day after the order is placed. I ran into this as well when I pre-ordered a PRS-900.

Mine says it was estimated to ship yesterday, so...

I wonder if the notify me option is to gauge interest in the unit? I too didn't receive notification of anything from them. meh

I'm nutty enough I pre-ordered the red with a black cover w/light. Tired of the clip on lights I have used the last couple years.

Not nutty at all! Pre-ordering Sony products is just a fine way to help Sony cope with, well, whatever, in the aftermath of Fukushima.

My expected ship date is 9/15/11, which of course did not happen.

They have not charged my card yet.
