Annotation/Highlighting?
I use my Kobo Touch for textbooks and class notes, often PDFs. Some sort of annotation/note-taking/highlighting would be amazing.

If you're talking about on all material, sideloaded epub content too, you're going to make my day!!!

And if it's not asking too much, I hope there is going to be some kind of convenient "index" of annotations, so you can pull it up and easily navigate to each one...

Annotations are a fine thing, bookmarks too! After all it would be nice to go back to exacly any place in the text.

But to say "You'll be able to annotate very soon™" does not mean you will ever find your annotations.

Whether you want to annotate, highlight or bookmark anything in the text, the prerequisite is a searching function.

The Kobo does not have a searching fuction.

ps: Love the trade mark on the the word soon™

pps: There is a cheap workaround to the export of annotations. However, it doesn't involve any cross platform compatibility.

The two will be in sync after having... er... synced.

Also, to the search question above, you'll be able to find notes in a similar manner to how you currently find your highlights.

This sounds really nice, but is it going to work with sideloaded PDFs? I don't own a single Kobo book, I use the thing for classnotes and textbooks.

Is there any news on this subject? It's been over 3 weeks since the last post (a question about sideloaded files) and over 4 weeks since SameerH's comment of "very soon."

I'm shopping for a new ereader and the KT looks promising as does the Onyx. I got burned by Irex's promises of upgraded firmware for the Iliad. I'm not so quick to go down that road again.
