I'm selling my silver 505 because I got a Kindle. It comes in the original box with the original brown cover, a pink cover, and the black cover with the light (in original box), the USB charger, and a wall charger (in original box). It also has a skin on it, which is pink and purple flowers, which I can also remove if you do not want it.

I am asking $50 for everything. I've had it for a long time now and just want it gone. I will not ship outside of the US. Shipping is a standard $10.95 USPS Priority Mail within the US.

I also have ebay feedback if you would be interested in checking that out.

This is a girl making this thread first of all.

Second, the reader is pretty much new. Still works, still charges. It was used but protected. It has over 40 books on it which I am basically giving away if they are wanted with it. The USB cable comes with it. It comes with 3 covers, one being the cover with the light. Everything has it's original box except for the pink cover. I also went out and purchased the ps3 wall charger that is compatible with the 505 for faster charging, so you would be getting that as well.

What do you think it's worth?

As a clue, there is another 505 for sale with a Light Wedge cover for $75. It doesn't have as many bits and bobs as yours, but then people may not really want so many bits and bobs.

A good way to find the going price is to view the completed listings on ebay for one similar to yours. Then ask LESS than that, if you are listing it here, since you don't have to pay the fees, which are high.

One thing to bear in mind: you mustn't leave any copyrighted books on the device when you sell it. It would be a breach of copyright to do so.

As Harry notes, it is a breach of copyright. When you purchased the books from Sony, you did not purchase the right to do whatever you like with them - such as making them available for someone else.

The copyright holder belongs to the author and/or publisher. You purchased the right for you to read the book - nothing more.

Even if you where allowed to re-sell the ebooks on your reader, adding their worth to the reader would be pointless as everybodies taste in books in different and most people would not be willing to pay extra for books that you picked for them.

It's almost like selling a bookcase including the cost of the books that the buyer has to buy with it....

Not only do ebooks do not have right of first sale, but they may not work when the person who buys it registers the device. If they register with the Sony store, to buy books on their own, unless they're using your accounts (ADE and Sony), then this may deactivate the books under your account, thus making them a bit useless. Also, they would be unable to strip the DRM, unless they have the account info. Since I doubt you're going to be giving your email and password info over to the buyer, they won't get much use out of those books.
