Kindle - no email or news

I have registered my Kindle and set up my account with my @free.kindle.com email address. I have also installed Calibre on my PC. I have a good wifi connection but although I seem able to send emails and news feeds when I Sync my Kindles it does not receive them.

Any suggestions?

Your Amazon Kindle account needs to be set up to receive email from your specified email addresses:

Log onto your Amazon account, and choose Manage Your Kindle.

On the left, you will see several options. Click Personal Document Settings.

Under the heading Approved Personal Document E-mail List, click Add a new approved e-mail address. Then add the email address(es) from which you will be sending email to your Kindle.
