KT Hyperlink issues--any ideas from Kobo?

I'm reading David Foster Wallace's "Infinite Jest" (!), and it's full
of endnotes.

2 issues:

1. If the number of the endnote hyperlink is on the top row of text on the KT,
there is no way to press and access it. It either turns the page or
highlights the number, as if I wanted to look it up or Facebook it.
2. Similarly, and this is driving me nuts, the "Back to text"
hyperlink often gives me the dictionary/FB when I press it. So, I
have to push the X to get out, and try again, sometimes multiple times
Thanks!

An alternative method to navigate back to the origin is to tap the middle of the screen while in the end-note section of the book and then tap the Back icon in the lower left of the screen.
