Desktop application doesn't work behing a proxy

There doesn't seem to be any way to configure an Internet proxy in the Desktop application, not does it seem to use the system default proxy (Windows 7 OS, Dektop app 2.1.0)

I'm still surprised that someone would want to make proxy support a hidden feature, though. This really belongs in the preferences pane...
